Day 1: Review of Advanced Modeling Features
The business case assumes hands-on familiarity with PowerChain Inventory and a solid understanding of supply chain theory and math. Day 1 reviews:
- Supply chain concepts
- Critical concepts and features of PowerChain Inventory
- Modeling tips and tricks
Day 2 through 4: Navigating the Business Case
Participants work through a business case, optimizing inventories for the existing supply chain and evaluating strategic supply chain design alternatives. Each day begins with new information that adds complexity to the supply chain and end with collaborative discussions around the advantages of each modeling approach.
Day 2 - Modeling the Current Supply Chain
Participants define the business scenario they intent to address and plan their modeling approach.
- Map the supply chain
- Data requirements definition
- Data collection, calculation, and validation
Day 3 - Understanding PowerChain Inventory
New information must be accounted for as participants profess towards model completion.
- Modeling real-world constraints
- Interpreting results
Day 4 -Strategic Scenario Analysis
Participants evaluate strategic supply chain questions and develop recommendations about the pursuit of several initiatives.
- Service level recommendation
- Delayed differentiation recommendation
- Outsourcing options
Day 5: Results Presentations
Participants prepare their analysis, present their results, and defend their recommendations. They also contribute feedback to other teams and share ideas to improve supply chain performance.
